Matthew 5:18
'For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. '
In this passage Yeshua, Jesus being his English name, says that nothing from the law will change till Heaven and Earth pass away and all is accomplished. I did a video that talked of the “all is accomplished” statement and if you want to check that out then I will place a link at the bottom of this teaching.
But I am not going to Revelation 21 like I did in that video to talk of Heaven and Earth. No, this time I am going back to the law of God.
Deuteronomy 30:19-20
'I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”'
The main focus on this video is that God calls Heaven and Earth to witness against Israel. He has now given them His instructions and sets life/blessings and death/curses in front of them.
How many of you believe Yeshua is the eternal life/blessing? And that to deny him is eternal death/curses?
Maybe you wouldn't word it that way but I dare say most of you would agree with that. So, Yeshua is confirming that God's ways still stand till Heaven and Earth pass away because they are the witnesses God Himself sets up. This is just another way that Yeshua is setting the standard for how to read and understand scripture. Remember that at the end of the Sermon on the Mount, Mat 5-7, Yeshua says that to hear and do his words will be wise but to hear and not do his words will be foolish.
This passage is one I personally live my life by. It is even the inspiration for the name of this channel because it talks of building on a firm foundation and that foundation is the Messiah. I do my best to be wise in the eyes of God and not necessarily the eyes of men.
Heaven and Earth have not passed away yet and are still witnessing if men will obey the voice of God. One day, all will be accomplished and we will have a new Heaven and a new Earth as if prophecy.
Now the only real question is if the instructions of God apply to you as a follower of Christ right?
In Matthew 28:18-20 Yeshua basically says this.
'And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”'
Yeshua says that he now has authority over heaven and earth. He commands his disciples to go into the nations and make disciples, baptize them and teaching them to observe all that he has commanded.
Let me be blunt. The Messiah absolutely commands you to keep the instructions of God. Sometimes called the law or the laws of Moses. Moses was the intercessor not the law giver.
Yeshua is now our intercessor and his word is law because it came from the Father. Just like Moses. Just as God said in Deuteronomy 18:15-22.
Heaven and earth, the same God created in the beginning, are still here. So, the law has not changed and it is still witnessing if man will obey the voice of God.
As for my and my house, we will serve YHVH, the LORD.
